I’ve been a rat, I know. Let me update, briefly, on the year that has passed.
I’ve had a real job, in order to fund my next independent release. I’ve dug up the entirety of the front yard, accidentally killing at least one stolid tree in my enthusiasm. I have learnt to bake bread, and have developed an addiction to choc chip cookies. I have raided my parent’s vinyl collection, rediscovering Janis Ian’s ‘Between The Lines’
And music? Well, today I write to you from my studio. There’s green everywhere outside my window, the birds flit and my guitars are lined up against the wall. I’ve barely been seen publicly with a guitar (and, when seen, I was mostly attending a family function) but have been completely indulging myself with mornings spent writing songs and afternoons reading in the garden. My brush with responsibility was brief.
The album is underway. We’ll start pre-production in november and then it is all systems go. The songs are written, the name is chosen, the show is well and truly on the road
And spenking of roads, it’s worthwhile mentioning my first saunter into public touring for a yearr. Come January, we’ll be packing the gear and heading west, deep west, back to one of my favourite places on earth- Broken Hill. So if anyone feels like a road trip, the 9th of January is our leaving date.
Love to you all amigos, and hoping all is sunny where you are.
