How we got to the end of the first year of touring, I have no idea. I’m off the road and back in Katoomba, which is delighting itself in a second round of winter just to be mean. The year was massive indeed. The last tour took me from Deniliquin to Broken Hill, from Caloundra to Adelaide. The Majors Creek festival, the final weekend of touring, was a delightful way to finish off the schedule. Everything that a festival should be, chilled, fun and with wicked music.
So where to next? The coming couple of months will include a couple of outings- a support for Hawksley Workman on Jan 4 and Steve Tyson on Feb 9- as well as a recently announced show at Peats Ridge to make the year complete. I’ll be popping my head out occasionally for really fun things, but the time has come to bunker down and release the next album.
‘Tis true amigos, the second album ‘Sundays Ignored’ is to be released in the second half of 2012, followed up by a big national tour. The level of excitement at headquarters (i.e. in my own head) is extreme, the time is ripe, the album is coming! So hold onto your hats, because it’s all about to happen again.
Have a great Xmas loves, see you for the bright new year.
